Rick Newton was born in West Palm Beach Florida. He received a BFA in Boston from the Massachusetts College of Art. Notable exhibitions include the  Art and Culture Center of Hollywood's 8th Biennial in 2017, Armory Art Center in Palm Beach, FL, Taking Posession and A Refined Existence at J Cacciola Gallery. His work is included in private and public collections in Los Angeles, Palm Beach, and the NY/NJ region, such as the Elayne Mordes Collection and the Baum Collection.

 

Stylistically inspired by scientific textbook illustrations, Rick Newton presents his personal mythology concerning the future of our world. Incorporating Cold War imagery interacting with animal life set in surreal landscapes he supposes a world where there has been a shift in hierarchy. His meticulously detailed renderings of flora, technology and animal life are fascinating, complex, and bold.
